New Home III

We've finished unpacking and everything fits - sort of. The garage is a wonder of organization and storage. Plus it houses my tiny studio. And speaking of the studio, I've been back at the torch - though not nearly enough. I'm playing around with some new ideas and have even pulled on some of my old glassblowing skills (which are rusty, indeed). Sometime soon, I'll get my act together to photograph the new work and post it. But until then . . .

It is May in New Mexico and the winds have been fierce! Not much fun for those of us who wear contact lenses.

I've survived the move to a new home, but there are still so many boxes to unpack and things to put away. Further complicated by the fact that there is so much less storage space! Well, I've always prided myself on being a creative problem solver, so now I'm put to the test.

Just to keep things interesting! At the end of the month, I'll be moving to a lovely townhouse not far from my current residence. It is decidedly smaller, so I'm trying to figure out what stays, what goes, what gets sold, and what gets stored in the garage! The good news is that I'll be able to set up my studio in the garage, whew.

New Adventure?

Last time I posted, I talked about how little time I have to pursue my glass work. That has changed - at least for now. I find myself "between jobs" as they say. And I'm actively looking for gainful employment along the same nonprofit lines as before. In fact, I've been SO busy setting up meetings, going to meetings, etc, that I have not been in my studio in a couple of weeks!

Where does this leave lampworking? As soon as I know, I'll let you know!

New Beginnings

When I was a child, people frequently asked me "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Well, having just completed my first bead show in three years, I find myself asking something similar. I'm working on my art again, but where do I want to go with it? I work full time as Executive Director of Santa Fe Pro Musica - a very rewarding, albeit stressful, job. That means there are some serious limitations on the time I have to devote to my glass, jewelry, and whatever other paths I want to explore - including this blog!

I guess, I'll just have to follow my instincts and chronicle my progress in future posts!
